What an amazing Safari we were treated to with Christophe Beau of Grand-Safari!  It was early March, and Bob received a call from our hunting consultant, Duane Watlington of Watlington Outdoors. He told us that he had an impressive contact from the Eastern Cape of South Africa that was quite interested in hosting Extreme Outer Limits to a long range grand safari at one of his finest concessions that would allow us some incredible long range shooting opportunities.  Bob and I were ecstatic to have such and opportunity and wasted no time in making our travel arrangements.

Upon landing on African soil, we were greeted at the airport by Mr. Christophe himself and driven through beautiful scenery of green meadows and lush mountains to our final destination in the Eastern Cape.  The concession he had chosen for us to stay at and hunt from was breathtaking.  It sat in a valley surrounded by beautifully canvased mountains with high peaks reaching nearly 6,000 feet.  We were pleasantly surprised to see that Duane had done his homework and we were about to film the first ever Long Range African Safari.

We spent the next 12 days traversing up into these mountains that were accessible, to a point, by vehicle.  Most of the time, we would motor to an area where we knew a particular species lived and then hunt on foot.  Beings that we are long range shooters, we were able to glass for long periods of time from vast distances, to study and field judge the exact maturity of these particular animals we were hunting, without disturbing the herds.  Then, upon selecting a shooter, we were able to locate a desirable vantage point and set up for a shot.

The caliber of animals that live in these areas are top notch.  We were able to take some high quality trophies during our safari.  We can’t say enough about our experience.

I would without hesitation recommend Christophe and Karine’s Grandsafari operation.  Every attention to detail was taken and I never had any concerns as everything was as promised.  Our PH Braun was equally tremendous.  He guided my ten year old to three impressive trophies.  He took the time to involve my six year old daughter in the flora and fauna of the Eastern Cape.  I have been on many hunts stateside and none could equal the preparation and thoughtfulness that we received from Grand Safari.

Thanks again for making our family vacation more than a hunting trip.

I will never forget

I was not too happy about going to South Africa to accompany my son Brian on this until I got here. They arrangements were superb! The game more than plentiful, and the staff better than excellent. Being older (me) my PH Jonny fetting said “we will go at your pace”. The trip I will never forget and the service far exceeded my expectations.
