Savannah Safaris

The Hunting Areas

We operate out of three hunting concessions in North-Cameroon. Two are situated in the North- West Cameroon, on the Faro river and bordering the National Parks of Bénoué and Faro, the third concession is one of the biggest in the country with 135 000 ha of hunting ground on the Vina river.

We hunt on close to 350 000 ha in Northern Cameroon, with more than 20 Derby Eland on quota. 20 species to choose from with large populations of Lord Derby Eland, Savannah Buffalo and Roan and good Western African Lions just to mention a few …

The Camps

All the camps are on the same basis with private chalets called “boukarou”, all with a private en-suite bathroom. Every bed has a mosquito net and electricity is supplied with a generator, allowing to charge batteries at night. Meals are taken in the mess / restaurant of the camps overlooking at the Faro or Vina rivers.

The Hunting

Best time is from 15th of December to 15th of May. You will be hunting with your dedicated PH and his team of trackers and gun bearers, and will be using a hunting vehicle to move in within the area.

Usual way to hunt is to walk or drive around looking for a fresh track, and to follow it up on foot until we find the specimen hunted that day. Sometime the animal can be also spotted and stalked.

ADMIN Pack

Our travel partner Iles & Voyages is a French based company specialized in Cameroon. We have worked out an ADMIN PACK with them, covering the following services for your convenience:

Next morning, our local agent will pick you up at the Meridien Hotel to take you back to the airport for your domestic flight to Garoua (GOU).
